Our mission is to provide a comprehensive school counseling program with the support of staff and parents, structured around ASCA's National Standards for Students, and focusing on what all students should know, understand, and be able to do in order to advance their academic, career, and personal/social development and come to be productive and successful citizens.
School Counselor's Beliefs and Philosophy
School counselors believe:
Students are our highest priority
All students, when given a safe, nurturing environment, will succeed to their highest individual talent and potential
All students have the right to participate in a comprehensive school counseling program
Diversity is to be respected and appreciated and unity among students, staff, and community should be fostered
All students should have access to information about occupation and education planning
Comprehensive School Counseling Program
The Student Services Department believes that the school counseling program should:
Be student-centered
Be an integral component of the school's academic mission
Be comprehensive in scope, preventative in design, and developmental in nature with a multidimensional perspective
Be developmentally appropriate for Frink's students
Regularly participate in professional development activities
Create individualized lesson plans for students based on their developmental needs
Keep track of discipline and academic data in order to identify students with at-risk characteristics and then tailor preventative services or interventions
Complete a Program Audit half-way through and at the end of the academic year in order to target areas of weakness
Plan and coordinate all school counseling program activities
Be available to all students to discuss academic, career, and personal/social matters
Set goals based on ASCA competencies and school data, provide quality work, and monitor data to evaluate the effectiveness of interventions

counselor assists students in planning, monitoring, and managing their academic and career development

counselor interacts with parents, teachers, administrators, staff, and community stakeholders to promote student achievement for a specific student or to promote systemic change to address the needs of underachieving or underrepresented groups of students
